SBS’s true crime documentary series The Day the Tail Bites the Tail – Special: The Real is set to unveil one of its most shocking episodes yet. Scheduled to air on July 10, the episode titled “10+2 = Serial Killer Kang Ho-soon” will take a deep dive into the horrifying case of one of South Korea’s most notorious murderers, Kang Ho-soon.

The broadcast will feature exclusive content, including the first-ever televised confession video of Kang Ho-soon, revealing chilling details about his crimes. The segment will also include a special appearance by renowned criminal profiler Kwon Il-yong, who will serve as the episode’s storyteller. Kwon Il-yong will share his firsthand experiences and psychological insights from directly interviewing the killer.

In a preview, Kwon Il-yong raises a chilling question: “How much do we really know about Kang Ho-soon?” He continues, “When his crimes came to light, they were utterly heinous.” His appearance promises to add a layer of expert psychological analysis to the already shocking revelations.

The most jaw-dropping moment comes from Kang Ho-soon himself. In the newly released footage, he confesses with a disturbingly calm demeanor: “There’s something I hid. I killed one more person.” This new information adds yet another victim to his already extensive list of crimes.

Kang Ho-soon, often referred to as the “infamous murderer”, began his killing spree in 2005 by murdering his ex-wife and mother-in-law. Between 2006 and 2008, he abducted and killed eight women, leading to his arrest and death sentence in 2009. A psychological evaluation revealed he scored 27 on the Psychopathy Checklist-Revised (PCL-R)—above the threshold of 25—classifying him as a psychopath with antisocial personality disorder.
